Implementing an AV Solution for Company Conference Rooms
Atlona Technologies is a solutions-based manufacturer of Audio Video technology.
Job:
The Brain and Spinal Injury Center at USCF recently updated their conference rooms with AV systems featuring a number of Atlona Audio Video solutions.
Challenges:
The Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF treats patients with neurosurgical disorders on a daily basis. This center employs some of the leading physicians and scientists in the field of neurosurgery. The center works tremendously hard searching for new cures and therapy methods. With dedicated faculty, supporters, and patients, it is no wonder that the UCSF Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF is one of the top ranked facilities in the world. Reliable conference rooms in companies are
a crucial part of business. The importance of an elegant, classy, and innovated conference room can enhance presentations and meetings. To wit, the Brain and Spinal Injury Center at USCF wanted to implement an AV system for their conference room. With this particular goal in mind, the center chose “Mr. Home Theater” as there AV installer. With over ten years experience in the AV industry, Zayed Mhimla was more than qualified to take on this application. From flat panel installs, to complex installations, ATLONA’s long line of solutions allowed “Mr. Home Theater” to choose from many AV solutions to implement in this system.
Solution:
The AT-HD-V44M is the main unit, the “brain”, of the whole setup. This is a highly advanced 4x4 HDMI matrix switcher. The AT-HD-V44M takes input from a single dedicated local PC as well as 2 AT-HD500s. The AT-HD500s are designed to take video signals from PCs or Laptops and upscale them to digital HDMI formats at a wide range of HDTV and PC resolutions, up to 1080p or WUXGA (1920x1200). The HD500 VGA inputs are connected to 2 VGA cables with audio, attached to the conference room table. This allows the user at any moment to connect up to 2 laptops in the conference room. The content can be passed to the 3 displays by using the brain of the operation, the matrix unit AT-HD-V44M. In addition, the signals are extended to 3 different locations ranging from 50-80ft distances. For these runs, Mr. Mhimla chose the Atlona AT-HD-V40SRS cat5/6 HDMI extender solution.
Products:
The 4x4 Atlona HDMI Matrix Switcher with RS-232 and IR Remote (AT-HD-V44M), The Atlona PC / Laptop to HDMI Converter with built-in Scaler up to 1080p (AT-HD500), The Atlona HDMI 1.3 Extender with 3D Support over Single Cat5/6 up to 200ft (AT-HD-V40SRS).
Industry:
Using HDMI over CAT5/6, the Brain and Spinal Injury Center at USCF was able to successfully and economically implement their new AV system in their conference room. With the help of “Mr. Home Theater” as their AV installer and Atlona Technologies as their AV manufacturer of choice, the updated conference room will greatly benefit the dedicated faculty, supporters, and patients in one of the top ranked facilities in the world.
Lessons Learned:
Implementing an AV solution for your company conference rooms is an affordable investment that carries a higher return for your company in the long run. Most companies have international ventures and partners, and with the cost of traveling at its highest, companies are able to save money by limiting travel ventures for their employees. Instead, video conference meetings can be held, and in return this allows for less money being to be spent on travel expenses. As the business world moves towards a more innovative technology makeover, companies will have to adjust to stay competitive. ATLONA Technologies would like to thank “Mr. Home Theater” for choosing ATLONA as their AV solution and for his hard work in installing the AV system in UCSF.
