Jae Introduces the DC1 Series, A New Connector Designed for HDMI™

Japan Aviation Electronics (JAE) / Tokyo,Japan / September 24, 2003 — JAE introduces the DC1 series, a new connector designed for HDMI™ - High-Definition Multimedia Interface™. HDMI is the next-generation interface for consumer electronics products such as digital television, DVD players, and set-top boxes. HDMI use a much smaller, user-friendly connector than the existing DVI connector. The specification was designed to not only handle high-bandwidth, uncompressed video but multi-channel digital audio as well, all in one cable.

JAE was the original developing leader providing the Founding members with vital connector resources. Our technical engineers and marketing staff aided in the establishment of the HDMI specification v1.0, ensuring that the connector design met the requirements for Consumer Electronics.

JAE is offering a varying product line of lead-free HDMI connectors and cables. The DC1 line-up includes both through-hole mount and surface mount connectors, with and without a flange for chassis mounting. In addition JAE has available HDMI-to-HDMI & HDMI-to-DVI cables.

JAE has also been the supplier of choice in test connectors and cables for the HDMI Authorized Testing Centers (ATC). JAE is the only company in the market offering compliance-tested cables, ensuring interoperability with other compliant devices.

By late 2003 HDMI Consumer Electronics products will be introduced into the market. Many companies have already adopted the JAE DC1 connector for their product offerings.
