Silicon Image Announces Availability of HDMI Adopter Agreement and Formation of HDMI Licensing, LLC

Sunnyvale, California / November 4, 2002 — Silicon Image, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIMG), a leader in high-bandwidth semiconductor and system solutions for mass markets, today announced on behalf of the High Definition Multimedia Interface™ (HDMI™) Founders the availability of the proposed HDMI Adopter Agreement, as well as the formation of HDMI Licensing, LLC.

HDMI Licensing, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Silicon Image, Inc., and will be responsible for administering the licensing and interoperability efforts for the HDMI Specification. These efforts include monitoring interoperability and compliance among HDMI systems, as well as promoting HDMI technology. The HDMI Adopter Agreement details the specific HDMI licensing terms. These terms include an annual fee assessed to all adopters and royalties associated with consumer devices such as DVD players, set-top boxes, digital TVs, D-VHS players, A/V receivers, personal computers and monitors. The agreement may be downloaded from the HDMI website, located at, and will be finalized and executable upon announcement of the HDMI 1.0 Specification, which is expected to be finalized in the next few months.
