HDMI 1.3 Overview

Accell to Showcase World’s First HDMI 1.3 Cable at CES 2007

Fremont, California, Nov. 30, 2006 - Accell, a provider of premium audio/video interconnects, today announced that the world’s first Mini HDMI™ cable will be showcased at CES 2007. Accell’s new Mini HDMI cable, part of the UltraCam product line, enables the delivery of both high-definition video and multi-channel digital audio, ideal for connecting digital cameras and camcorders to HDMI enabled TV’s.

Originally making its debut at CEDIA Expo 2006, the UltraCam Mini HDMI cable will be shown at Accell’s booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center #26837 and the HDMI Tech Pavilion #25911J.

The Mini HDMI cable design is based on the new HDMI 1.3 specification, which includes Deep Color™ technology, new digital formats, audio/video syncing capabilities, and increases the bandwidth available under the HDMI 1.2 specification.

Camcorders and Digital cameras are among the first consumer electronics products that are expected to use HDMI 1.3 technology, enabling users to send their images and videos in less time, and with greater quality. “The form factor of the Mini HDMI connector is small and extremely user friendly" says Ron Glaz, Program Director for IDC's Digital Imaging Solutions and Services. “We foresee excellent growth potential for Mini HDMI in digital imaging products.”

“Accell understands the needs of the A/V market and the importance of portable, high-performance connectivity and its influence on the signal and the overall user experience," said Tenny Sin, Accell's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “The digital imaging market continues to expand because consumers are investing in the latest digital cameras and camcorders to capture life’s memories. Accell’s Mini HDMI cable is designed for optimum performance, seamless portability and ease of use.”

Accell’s Mini HDMI Digital Camera/Camcorder cable features precision gold-plated contacts and connectors, which provide a solid bridge to transport information reliably and quickly. Its compact, flexible design is ideal for easy packing and travel.
